Treskavec Hike
I’ll let the video do the explaining about what Treskavec is. I’m not sure exactly how to embed a video in my post, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, please do so… in the meantime, here’s the Treskavec hike video.
Umm… I like maps and I like information, so I’m going to share with you something a little nerdy… Its a google map I created to give a little perspective of the country. Click.
Also, I wanted to apologize for not getting anything up sooner- not a video I mean: that time frame is governed by the forces of editing… I mean, I should have posted text here sooner… I realize now that after we got back from our weekend excursion that that was the time to post- not now, 5 days later after, after the freshest recollections have faded… oops - I’ll be better next time.
It’s the Fourth of July! We’re off to celebrate it with a few of Valarie’s friends in a small town called Krushevo. I’m excited, as well as a little homesick. Its rare that I miss the Independence Day celebrations in Independence, CA.

Notes from Independence Day in Independence:
Many inquiries as to your whereabouts…Ronnie the butcher working with Dan on the meat preparation for the BBQ, Chicago Rose and mother, NYC Liz and Jeff, the Lampes, John Jr and the girls, BK & KLS and sister Cynthie, and of course Ann Capodanno & Bear.
Ann and I woke early to do the 4K and came in second to the last with Tom Hardy & his dog and our heels. Remember the cross country days, no shame only an enjoyable visit. Even got my first metal attached to a red, white and blue ribbon.
Ann’s parade entry won Judge’s Choice. Everyone said it was the most organized parade ever. What do you expect with Liz given the assignment as “controler”.
Sold t-shirts and made (and thankfully got caught by Anette) multiple addition errors in the price totals.
Just over 450 people feed. I was the usual Beverage Boss with a stellar team of Mariah & Ansel.
Fireworks were grand.
Wrap up of a long day with Mariah (recently acquired driver’s permit) driving the Santa Fe to Bishop. First time driving at night, and first time driving all of 395 from Indy to Bishop. (Klusmire too nervous of a parental unit with Mariah behind the wheel).
All and All a full fun day. Many times thought of you.
